Our role as the landscape architects on this project was to produce a due diligence investor package to show how a master planned community on a 541-acre parcel on the northern outskirts of Williston, ND. could be developed for the growing population of this area. The existing site is mostly comprised of a vast expanse of gently undulating landscape with the largest topography changes being around the stream corridors. The community surrounding the area to be developed is rapidly expanding in every direction in an attempt to keep up with the steady influx of workforce labor. The Master Plan community was designed to accommodate all demographic types from single field workers to families. Pulling influences from case studies of master planned communities developed in the late 90’s and 2000’s, Connect One created a strategically designed community that could be phased and was as well balanced in density and uses as it was responsive to the existing landscape and the City’s needs.
