NIKE HEADQUARTERS

The first Nike Headquarters site located in Shanghai serves to showcase latest products for Nike employees, offer guided tours of the site for tourists and visitors, and to use outdoor spaces as training grounds as well as to hold various sporting events. The scope of our work involved developing outdoor spaces surrounding seven new building, including a soccer field, dining terraces for employees, and outdoor terraces for visitors. The design process took 12 months and construction spanned another 18 months. The views from inside the building were mostly focused into internal courtyard spaces and green open spaces. The result of the design was a series of outdoor spaces to create a corporate campus feel. The planting scheme incorporated deciduous trees emphasizing the main access to campus with an understory perennial planting, ornamental grasses and bamboos.
