CREEK RESTORATION
Client: Private
Location: Garfield County, Colorado
Project Status: In-Progress
As part of efforts to create a leading land conservation and restoration center, this project will undertake an ambitious 18-mile restoration of a highly degraded creek that runs through their property.
The lower stretch of the creek is highly incised, a condition exacerbated by decades of cattle grazing and agriculture along its banks. The proposed restoration will increase the habitat value of the creek for many species of native flora and fauna, including cutthroat trout.
Connect One Design adapted the stream restoration plans created by RPM, Inc. into a series of 16 photo-realistic visual simulations illustrating the assumed progression of restoration techniques at several sections of the river over the next 20 years. The restoration techniques illustrated range from check dams and bank reinforcement to the creation of an entirely new stream bed. The graphics will be used for Army Corps of Engineers approvals, investor presentations, as well as digital and print marketing media.
