The owners of this existing residence requested the services of Connect One Design to expand the opportunities for outdoor living on a property defined by steep slopes and harsh exposure.

The owners wanted a landscape that fit their relaxed lifestyle, accommodated the needs of their growing children, and provided plenty of opportunities for outdoor gathering. The final plan is a progressive series of highly flexible spaces that can easily be adapted to meet the changing needs of the family. Connect One drew on the fun-loving personality of the client to create a solution that blends whimsical elements such as integrated swings, with functional elements including additional storage and an outdoor kitchen. Retractable shades and highly adapted vegetation alleviate the intensity of the southern exposure and frame the dramatic valley views. Other design elements include outdoor dining, improved integration of existing outdoor spaces, and improved vehicular access.
