Connect One Design was part of a multidisciplinary team for a mixed-use development project in Denver, CO. As part of their responsibilities, Connect One Design directed the design of a community park in the heart of the development. We worked closely with the community to create a vibrant recreation space which features year-round activities, from movie night under the stars to ice skating in the winter time. During the spring and summer seasons, flea and farmers markets will share space with food trucks and art related activities. Other features include multi-use open lawn areas for play, as well as an interactive water feature where small children run during hot summer days. A climbing wall keeps the not-so-young kids busy exploring their physical abilities while being discreetly watched by their parents. Edges of the park are activated by restaurants and coffee shops that are a crucial part of the community experience. Bike shelters and storage are provided for cyclists, while a ‘stroller parking area’ and custom shade canopy adds a layer of comfort and convenience for parents with small children.
